Billaud Simon Chablis

Billaud Simon Chablis

Billaud Simon Chablis

Beautiful white gold hue with delicate pale green glimmers. A seductive and very classic Chablis nose offering vine peach, banana, citrus fruits, and brioche. The palate is well-balanced, rich, fresh, and elegant. The smooth, rich structure lingers on the end palate. Ripe fruits combine harmoniously with mineral notes to give a soft mouthfeel.

Pair with red tuna tartare, baked salmon parcels, or crab.

Domaine Billaud-Simon is renowned for producing some of the best wines in Chablis, long recognized for their steely, mineral style. Domaine Billaud Simon owns 20 hectares of vineyards in some of the best areas in Chablis.

A slightly cooler and quite pretty nose speaks mostly of citrus and quinine along with whiffs of iodine. The delicious and more vibrant medium-weight flavors possess both good delineation and minerality while offering a more appealing texture on the bone-dry but not really austere finish. This is a very good village and worth considering. 91pts- Burghound.com

The ideal introduction to basic Chablis, this combines lemony freshness with chalky crispness on the sleep palate. Everything fits very neatly and this is wonderfully invigorating.  90pts JS
