The name “4X Oaked” comes from the blending process, which involves two double-oaked KSBW barrels and two double-oaked KSRW barrels in each 4-barrel batch. Adding to the uniqueness is the “Proofed In Barrel” technique, where the whiskey is proofed at 95 proof during its second barrel fill, rather than in tanks. This allows the whiskey to mature in its final proof within the barrel for an additional 12-14 months, resulting in a fuller, more nuanced spirit.
- Double Oaked Blend: A blend of two double-oaked Kentucky Straight Bourbon and two double-oaked Kentucky Straight Rye barrels for a rich, layered flavor profile.
- Proofed In Barrel: Proofed at 95 proof inside the barrel, creating a deeper integration of flavors during the aging process.
- 4X Oaked: Four barrels are used in the process—two bourbon and two rye barrels, each double-oaked, resulting in an intricate, bold flavor.
- Aged an Additional 12-14 Months: Each secondary barrel is aged further after proofing, enhancing complexity and depth.
